Charcoal Vs Pellet Grill Comparison



A charcoal vs pellet grill comparison is a must-read if you are looking for the best cooking grill available. Both types of barbecue cookers offer different pros and cons. Are Wood Pellet Grills Safe For Cooking?



The most common question people have about pellet grills is are they safe. Well, it depends on what kind of wood pellets you use and what kind of safety features are in place on the grill. Causes of a Traeger Grease Fire



The most common cause of a Traeger grease fire is a pellet grill that does not get cleaned properly. As a result, the pellet grill will start to accumulate residue and it will fall on the food. This will cause uneven temperatures, which can result in dangerous grease fires. It may also overheat. If you notice the drip tube is clogged, you should clean it immediately. After cleaning, you should check the RTD probe to see if it is still functioning.

Another cause of a Traeger grease fire is a dirty smoke stack. If the grill is cold, the grease will condense and drip into the grill. Clean the chimney cap with a cloth and warm water and your favorite degreaser. It may be necessary to clean the chimney cap separately. Once this is done, clean the entire smoker using a wooden tool. If the pellets are in poor condition, clean them. Then, replace them with a fresh batch of pellets.

The last possible cause of a Traeger grease fire is an overcharged and overheated grill. You may not have realized it, but a Traeger fire can be prevented with proper maintenance. Cleaning the pellet grill regularly will reduce the need for deep cleaning. First, unplug the grill and wipe it with soapy water and a disposable rag.
