How to Barbecue a Tri Tip on a Charcoal Grill

Published

on

The first step to barbecuing a tri tip is to make it fatty-side up on the grill. Sear the tri-tip for 3 to 4 minutes per side. Be careful as the fatty-side of the tri-tip can flare-up. After cooking on the first side, flip it over and allow it to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. The following tips will ensure the best possible barbecue results every time.

Trimming the tri-tip is a crucial step that makes a big difference in the finished product. Most tri-tips are already trimmed of the fat, but trimming it is crucial for the perfect flavor. Doing this will ensure that every bite of the meat is tender and not chewy. The final step is to place the tri-tip on a plate and allow it to rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes.

Always use a good quality charcoal to ensure that your steak turns out moist and juicy. To achieve the best results, use Kingsford Charcoal, preferably made from a high-quality hardwood. If you have a gas grill, you can also opt for a traditional outdoor gas barbecue. The charcoal will give your meat a great flavor and will ensure that it is cooked evenly. It will be a good investment to cook a tri-tip on a charcoal grill.

Once you’ve finished cooking the tri-tip, you can then rest it for at least 5 to 10 minutes before carving. It is important to keep in mind that the fat of the tri-tip can drip down and cause a flare-up. If you notice this, you can move it away from the flame and continue cooking. You can also check the temperature with a meat thermometer. Then, rest it for 5 to 10 minutes.

After preparing your tri-tip for barbecue, season it on all sides and place it on the top rack of your gas grill. If you’re using an electric grill, you’ll need a rotisserie to prepare the tri-tip for roasting. Then, you’ll need to add the beef tri-tip to the rotisserie and cook it until it’s 120 degrees for rare and 130 degrees for medium-rare.

The tri-tip should be seasoned on all sides and placed on indirect heat. Before the tri-tip is removed from the charcoal grill, it should be cooled for ten minutes. Then, it’s time to remove it from the coals. When serving the tri-tip, it should be served hot or cold, depending on the desired cooking temperature. The meat should be at room temperature. It should be moistened with a marinade of olive oil and seasoned with coarse salt.

When preparing your tri-tip roast for grilling, it’s important to use the appropriate spices and rubs. While seasoned meats may seem like they require more attention than usual, they can be prepared in minutes with the proper spices and herbs. To make them even tastier, you can apply an even layer of spice or rub on each piece of meat. Then, leave them to finish grilling for an hour or so.
